Innovative Check-In System Helps Patients Save Time and Paperwork
If only patient check-in procedures were as easy as opening an app on your iPad.
Now they are! In fact, your next doctor’s visit may look something like this: Instead of being greeted by a line at the receptionist’s desk (along with a pile of paperwork), you’re greeted with a PhreesiaPad. This tablet—similar in size to an iPad – has everything you need to check-in quickly and efficiently. It’s easy to use and guides you through a step-by-step registration process.
What Can You Do With the Phreesia Check In System?
First, you’ll verify your information, including your address and insurance information. Then, you’ll mention the reason for your visit and provide some basic medical history, including any prescriptions you may be taking.
Once you enter this information, you won’t have to do it again on your next visit—you’ll merely be asked to verify. Don’t worry – the device doesn’t store the information, but instead, transfers it securely to the practice’s electronic medical record. Through every step of the process, your medical privacy is guarded.
After you’ve submitted your information, it calculates your copay, and you can pay securely right there, while you’re waiting to see the doctor. This process offers several other advantages such as:
LEARNING WHILE YOU WAIT
Phreesia provides several patient education videos on everything from high blood pressure to diabetes—personalized just for you. For example, suppose your last visit indicated that your cholesterol was a bit high. At your next check-in, the tablet may suggest certain videos on how to lower your cholesterol, how to prevent heart disease and how to read nutritional labels. Not interested in going through the medical ads? No worries. When you get to the end of your assessment, click the “exit” button on the upper right side of the pad and the ads will cancel out. You can then return your pad to the check in staff.
NO WORRIES OVER GERMY HANDS
Of course, no one wants to catch a “bug” that’s going around while waiting in the doctor’s office. If the thought of using a table that has been touched by several people makes you uneasy, don’t panic. The tablet utilizes an Anti-Microbial shield. This means organisms, bacteria and viruses can’t survive on the surface. Much more sanitary than the “old” method of using clipboards and pens.
HELPS YOU STAY IN CONTACT WITH YOUR PRACTICE
Is your practice closed due to inclement weather? Need an appointment reminder? This new, innovative check-in technology allows you to sign up for updates to keep you in the loop.
Raleigh Medical Group, Cary Medical Group, Raleigh Adult Medicine and Wake Endoscopy started utilizing the PhreesiaPads in December of 2015. Don’t be surprised if you’re next visit adds a dash of high-tech efficiency to simplify the check-in procedure.
